The EM932 EISA Adapter ---------------------------------------- You can take advantage of Predictive Pipelining, Cogent's innovative data transfer technology, by using eMASTER+ adapters in both the client and server computers. Refer to the eMASTER+ User Manual for information about configuring your EM932 EISA adapter for Predictive Pipelining. If you are using a Compaq SystemPro XL and would like to configure for more than four EM932 EISA adapters, contact Cogent Technical Support. eMASTER+ Setup Program ---------------------------------------- The eMASTER+ Setup Program requires MS-DOS version 3.3 or later. Before running the eMASTER+ Setup Program, make sure no network drivers are running in the system. To run Diagnostics on one or more adapters, the adapters must be installed in machines located on a private network. Predictive Pipelining on NetWare 3.1x servers ---------------------------------------- To enable Predictive Pipelining, you must add the following line to the STARTUP.NCF file: SET MAXIMUM PHYSICAL RECEIVE PACKET SIZE=4202 Predictive Pipelining on NetWare 3.1x and NetWare 4.x servers ---------------------------------------- You can disable Predictive Pipelining on a specific eMASTER+ adapter by using MAXSIZE=1514 as a LOAD line parameter. NFOLIO Help ---------------------------------------- Problems are known to occur when using ODI workstation drivers for bus mastering LAN adapters with NetWare's NFOLIO Help versions prior to 2.13. The NFOLIO 2.13 update is available on CompuServe in the Novell Vendor A forum (GO NVENA). Performance Testing and NDIS Drivers ---------------------------------------- If you are using NDIS drivers and performance testing your eMASTER+ adapters, use the "max" parameter in PROTOCOL.INI. The max parameter maximizes performance by increasing the values of certain parameters. For more information, see the eMASTER+ User Manual.
