850 Motherboard CMOS Setup

The Setup Utility consists of four major menus - Standard, Power Management, PCI/IRQ Reservation and Integrated Peripherals. This section covers all of these menus and their sub-menus, including definition and usage of the features. In addition, full screens are provided for illustration. These illustrations are approximations of the actual screens.

To enter the Setup utility, press the <F2> key during POST. This will bring up the main menu.

Menu Item Options Description
Standard CMOS Setup Sub-menu Basic system configuration, including date, time, HDD & FDD parameters.
Power Management Setup Sub-menu Used to configure Power Management features.
PCI/IRQ Reservation Allows the user to reserve specific IRQs for specific usage.
Load BIOS Defaults Load BIOS defaults that have been set by the manufacturer for minimum system requirements.
Integrated Peripherals Sub-menu Used to configure onboard peripherals, such as serial & parallel ports and HDD & FDD controllers.
Supervisor Password Allows a Supervisor password to be set or changed.
Exit & Save Changes Save all changes and exit the Setup utility.
Exit Without Saving Changes Exit the Setup utility without saving changes.
