Known Errata

Environmental Limits are reduced with Dual Pentium module

The BXCPU2XPENT66 (Dual Pentium) failed thermal testing at the standard rackmount ambient temperature of 50 C, but it passed at 40 C. Therefore the ambient temperature with the Dual Pentium module must not exceed 40 deg. C.

General Description

The XpressRACK plated steel chassis is a 19-inch wide industrial system based on the 6- and 8-slot Xpress system baseboards. The chassis design allows for slide mounting in an industry standard RETMA 19-inch equipment rack. XpressRACK requires 4 RETMA units (7 inches) of rack height and is suitable for installation in racks with depths of at least 28 inches. The 6-slot XpressRACK industrial positive pressure system is equipped with a 300 watt (switch selectable) power supply, four 5¼" half-height peripheral bays, integrated I/O ports, and the integrated video/IDE/floppy controllers freeing up valuable EISA slots. The 8-slot XpressRACK industrial chassis also incorporates the positive pressure chassis design, four 5¼" peripheral bays and integrated system baseboard features, but includes an auto-ranging 396 watt power supply and programmable Liquid Crystal Display (LCD). The dual 50 cfm fans found in both XpressRACK systems are designed to create positive air pressure in the system preventing airborne contaminants from entering the system and are more than adequate to cool a Pentium CPU module or wide range of available i486 SX, DX, or DX2 CPU modules along with any peripherals and EISA/ISA add-in cards. The XpressRACK systems include world class safety, EMI/RFI, Novell and Banyan certifications to ensure safe and reliable operation in the industrial environment.
