The method for disabling the parallel
port on the Model 301Z causes confusion according to instructions
in the SYP301Z Installation & Users Guide (pg. 3-24). The Users Guide
suggests that in order to disable the parallel port a jumper should
be installed between stake pins E11-E12. The jumpers from E1-E10 must
be removed. The Users Guide mistakenly implies that the jumpers for
LPT1 and LPT2 (E1-E10) may remain in place when disabling the parallel
port. If jumpers E1-E10 are not removed the Model 301Z will not boot
from hard or floppy disk.
