**Support Chips:
**M1535/D South Bridge ?
***Info:
The M1535 provides the highest integration south bridge solution
between PCI bus and Peripheral buses for personal computer systems. It
includes audio, high-speed modem, Super I/O and Fast IR integrated in
to one chip to complement any one of ALi’s North Bridge solutions
namely M1541, M1621 and M1631.

The M1535 is PCI spec. 2.2 compliant. It provides steerable PCI
Interrupts for PCI device Plug-and-Play, it has up to 8 PCI interrupts
routing, it has level to edge trigger transfer. It has enhanced DMA
controller. It provides 14 interrupt channels as Interrupt Control-
ler. It provides 8254 Compatible timers for system timer, Refresh Re-
quest, Speaker Output use. It has 7 DMA channels that can be
arbitrarily programmed as distributed channels. It provides 1 PC/PCI
DMA channel interface. It supports serialized IRQ in quiet/continuous
mode. It supports Plug-and-Play. It has built-in PS2 Keyboard and
mouse controller. It provides hot plugging events detection.

The M1535 also provides the best power management solution. The M1535
integrates ACPI support, deep green function, 2-channel Ultra
DMA-33/66 IDE bus master controller, 4-port USB controller, SMBus
controller, Super I/O, audio system and software modem into one
27mmx27mm BGA (Ball Grid Array) chip.

Further more, the M1535 is designed to meet the requirements of
desktop, mobile PCs.

**Notes:
You eventually get to know when a board is made by PC Chips just by
looking at it.

Here is a test:
1. No manufacture name, or one of the above.
2. If the board has a lots of components that sound like a well known
part but aren't the well known part. i.e. 'HX Pro' instead of
    '430HX'
3a. A really good feature set where you think, that's exactly what I'm
    looking for.
 b. The features don't really work as intended.
4. The price is fantastic.
5. Its disappointing on closer examination.

PC Chips is renowned for making crap products. Some are actually not
too bad, they're no worse than your average brand. However some are a
nightmare either by design or just poorly made. Fake components glued
on is not uncommon. Fake labels over other components. PCB's so thin
they require low insertion force ISA connectors, every trick to save a
few $.
