§1 Lists the various support chips associated with the Intel designed
systems.
§2 Contains the datasheets of chips used in, or related to the
PC/XT *and* datasheets that are related to the AT. Datasheets
between 1975 and 1982 (January) have been included in this section.
The IBM PC was introduced August 12, 1981. The 1981 datasheet
catalog used as a source to write this section is dated January
1981. Since this is quite a long time before the introduction of
the PC, also included, is information sourced from the 1982
datasheet catalog. This is dated January 1982, and does not give
any specifications of the iAPX 286 (80286) architecture.
This should hopefully give an idea of what chips were available
from Intel around the introduction of the IBM PC.
§3 Is a list of chips actually used in the IBM PC/XT
§4 Is a continuation of datasheets of chips used in the IBM PC/XT/AT
from 1982 to 1984. Only chips that are actually used by one of the
IBM systems are included for brevity. This section is cumulative on
section 2. Specifically, for a given chip, this section includes
information sourced from all datasheets before 1984.
§5 Is a list of chips actually used in the IBM AT
§6 Is like §4, but is up to 1989.
